It still has a long way for Vietnamese tourist companies to be named "professional". I made this conclusion after using a tour going to Nha Trang City provided by The Sing, one of well-known tour companies in HCMC. Below is a restaurant where the tour company stopped our bus for lunch at 2:00pm in Ham Thuan Nam district, Phan Thiet province.
Dear Director of The Sinh Tourist Company,
I am Vo Dac Khoi, a Vietnamese citizen. During the Tet Holiday, I had a chance to use your company service taking a tour Saigon-NhaTrang-Saigon. Following the instruction on your website, on January 29, I agreed to pay a tour for 5 passengers with a total cost of 427.07USD by credit card. My booking number: 29012010000038163139 and booking code WB-DL1001-16108. The service I would received including 2 double (twin) rooms and one single room and travel back and forth by sleeping bus.
On February 04, 2010, I called you office to change the day for the trip back to Saigon from NhaTrang, moving from February 18 to February 20. The receptionist (Ms. Thu) agreed and asked us to pay a compensation of 250,000 VND but she said we would pay when coming to The Sinh Office.
On February 16, we took the bus and your office did not receive 250.000 VND without any explanations. The trip went well until we came to NhaTrang. First, we received only two rooms: one room for three and one room for two passengers. There was a foreigner in my group, he was supposed to have a single room, but Hoang Dang Hotel could not arrange for it. He was angry.
On February 20, we took the trip back to Saigon, but it was a seating bus. We did not have that explanation in advance. The foreigner had a feeling of cheating. I'm shame for this. The bus took us to Saigon and only stopped by on the way back at the same local restaurant that it had stopped on way to NhaTrang. It was 2:00PM. The reason for being late because it must drop 4 passengers in Mui Ne and receive two passengers in PhanThiet City. NganDinh is the name of restaurant in Ham Thuan Nam. When we arrived, food was run out and very dirty. As you see the picture of its menu, this restaurant presents a wrong translation menu in English.
We all know that Vietnamese companies in general have several disadvantages in comparison with foreign counterparts. We know that during the Tet, your company was overwhelming. I did not want to blame for it. But, the foreign passenger told that he must have the answers from you, as well as a compensation of the different services that your company offered.
Thank you very much for your attention and consideration.
Best Regards,
